Best Known as: exiled Georgian opposition leader Patarkatsishvili was a Georgian opposition politician who was exiled for his accusations against the pro-Western Georgian government. He believed the government was headed towards autocracy and corruption. As an influential public figure, Patarkatsishvili was a prominent opposition leader to President Mikheil Saakashvili, even in exile. Patarkatsishvili made his fortune after the Soviet Union’s fall, but faced accusations of corruption and white-collar crime in both Georgia and Russia.
