Louis Stevens Biography

Louis Stevens, along with William Goddard and John Lynott and a team of engineers, invented a magnetic disk storage drive for computers that allows users to store and access large amounts of data almost instantly. Components of the disk drive are still used in modern computers. Born in Post, Texas, Stevens studied electrical engineering at Texas Tech and the University of California at Berkeley. After earning his BSEE and MSEE, he went on to work for IBM where he created the disk drive of the modern computer.
