Berets" Deathplace: southwestern Kentucky Robin Moore was a writer and advocate of the U.S. Special Forces. He is famous for his two books, "The French Connection" (1965) and "The Green Berets" (1969). "The French Connection" later inspired the movie that won five Academy Awards in 1972.
