KELLY, George Bradshaw, a Representative from New York; born in Waterloo, Seneca County, N.Y., December 12, 1900; attended parochial and high schools and the University of Rochester, Rochester, N.Y.; employed by a railway signal company 1915-1919; salesman for a candy company in 1920; production manager for a clothing manufacturer 1921-1933; member of the State assembly in 1933 and 1934; served in the State senate in 1935 and 1936; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fifth Congress (January 3, 1937-January 3, 1939); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1938 to the Seventy-sixth Congress and for election in 1940 to the Seventy-seventh Congress; regional director of the Wage-Hour Division of the United States Department of Labor for New York and Connecticut in 1939 and 1940; member of the State board of mediation in 1941 and 1942; manager of an industrial alcohol plant for war production during the Second World War; associated with a brewing company and also radio broadcasting companies; insurance broker; New York State assistant commissioner of labor; urban renewal consultant for Rochester, N.Y.; resided in Rochester, N.Y.; died in Lyon, France, June 26, 1971; interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterloo, N.Y.
