KULP, Monroe Henry, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Barto, Berks County, Pa., October 23, 1858; attended the public schools of Shamokin, the State Normal College, Lebanon, Ohio, and was graduated from Eastman Business College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; engaged in the lumber, brick, and ice business in Shamokin, Pa.; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-fourth and Fifty-fifth Congresses (March 4, 1895-March 3, 1899); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1898; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1900; devoted himself to the lumber business and to many other interests; died in Shamokin, Northumberland County, Pa., on October 19, 1911; interment in the City Cemetery.
