QUINN, James Leland, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Emlenton, Venango County, Pa., September 8, 1875; moved to Braddock, Allegheny County, Pa., with his parents in 1880 and attended St. Thomas School; employed as a newspaper reporter 1891-1896; became owner and publisher of the Braddock (Pa.) Journal in 1896; member of the State house of representatives 1933-1935; elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-fourth and Seventy-fifth Congresses (January 3, 1935-January 3, 1939); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1938 to the Seventy-sixth Congress; resumed the newspaper publishing business; died in Braddock, Pa., November 12, 1960; interment in Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
