The raunchy comedy star of Inside Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer is the star of Inside Amy Schumer, a Comedy Central sketch show that highlights her often raunchy sense of humor and unabashed personal tales of carnality. Schumer grew up in New York and studied theater at Towson University in Maryland. After finishing school in 2003, she returned to New York and studied acting before taking her shot at stand-up comedy. Her first break came as a contestant on the NBC talent show Last Comic Standing in 2007 (she finished fourth). From there, Schumer landed guest spots on talk shows and small roles in comedies, including a recurring role in the mockumentary Delocated, and a co-hosting spot on A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus. Her first album, Cutting, was released in 2011, and she did her first stand-up comedy special, Mostly Sex Stuff, in 2012. Inside Amy Schumer made its debut in 2013. Her film roles have included the movies Price Check (2012, with Parker Posey) and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012, starring Steve Carell).
