The silly gold robot in Star Wars

C-3P0 is the prissy, gold-plated "droid" (robot) in the popular Star Wars film series created by George Lucas. C-3P0 and his rolling sidekick R2-D2 had supporting roles in the original Star Wars (1977) and have appeared in each of the film's sequels. C-3P0 is a "protocol droid," designed to serve as a translator and an etiquette specialist; he was built by youthful Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), who later became the notorious Darth Vader. C-3P0 is played by actor Anthony Daniels.
