English actor Charlie Hunnam is best known for playing the leader of a California biker gang in the TV series Sons of Anarchy. Hunnam began working in television when he was a teenager, and his breakthrough role came in 1999 with the series Queer as Folk. Although he's since had many roles in feature films -- including the title role in 2002's Nicholas Nickleby (based on the Charles Dickens novel) -- he's still better known for his television work: From 2008 to 2014, Hunnam played the troubled protagonist of the hit show Sons of Anarchy (co-starring Ron Perlman). His other films include supporting roles in Cold Mountain (2003, starring Nicole Kidman), Children of Men (2006, starring Clive Owen), Pacific Rim (2013, with Idris Elba) and True History of the Kelly Gang (2019), and leading roles in The Lost City of Z (2016), Papillon (2017) and Arthur: True Legend of the Sword (2017).
Extra Credit

Charlie Hunnam was selected in 2013 to star in the film version of the E.L. James novel 50 Shades of Grey, but it didn’t work out; he was replaced by Jamie Dornan.
