Elizabeth Cady Stanton was a leading figure in the American women's rights movement of the 19th century. She was a co-founder (with Lucretia Mott) of the famous 1848 Women's Rights Convention held at Seneca Falls, New York, and drafted the convention's Declaration of Sentiments. Stanton is often remembered in connection with her friend and fellow reformer Susan B. Anthony.
