Iman was a high-fashion model from Somalia known for her lithe frame and serene good looks. After her retirement from modelling she gained wider fame when she married rock innovator David Bowie in 1992. Iman owns a cosmetics company and, like Bowie, takes occasional roles in films, including L.A. Story (1991, starring Steve Martin), Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country (1991, starring William Shatner) and Exit to Eden (1994, with Rosie O'Donnell).
