Jaden Smith made his movie debut in the 2006 drama The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), playing the son of his real-life father, actor Will Smith. The son of Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett Smith, Jaden had an early leg up in Hollywood: he first appeared on screen in several episodes of All of Us, the TV show his parents helped create, in 2003 and 2004. With that solid start, Jaden's next job was a supporting role in the big-budget remake The Day the Earth Stood Still (2006, starring Keanu Reeves). He then landed the lead role in the remake of the 1980s hit The Karate Kid in 2010. (Jaden took the Ralph Macchio role, with Jackie Chan standing in for Pat Morita.) In 2013 he again co-starred with his father in the sci-fi film After Earth. Jaden Smith has also dabbled in music, releasing various singles and the mixtape The Cool Cafe (2012). He was featured on Justin Bieber's 2011 single "Never Say Never."
Jaden Smith’s younger sister, Willow Smith (born 2000), is a pop singer and actress. He also has a half-brother, Trey Smith, from his father’s earlier marriage to Sheree Zampino.
