The director of Juno and Up in the Air

Jason Reitman is a Canadian-born, Hollywood-raised filmmaker who earned an Oscar nomination for directing the 2007 comedy Juno. He's the son of Genevieve Robert and producer Ivan Reitman, whose box office hits include National Lampoon's Animal House (1978), Ghostbusters (1984) and Kindergarten Cop (1990). The younger Reitman naturally began making movies when he was a kid, and as a young man he made it to the Sundance Film Festival with short films in 1998 and 2000. His first feature film was the satire Thank You for Smoking (2005, starring Aaron Eckhart), a critical and box office success. His film of Diablo Cody's Juno was another hit that made stars of Cody and lead actress Ellen Page. He then wrote, produced and directed 2009's Up in the Air, starring George Clooney and Vera Farmiga, and followed that with another Diablo Cody-scripted comedy, Young Adult (starring Charlize Theron).
