Place Of Birth:
Bridgeport, Connecticut

Singer of "Your Body is a Wonderland"
John Mayer attained pop stardom with his first album, Room For Squares (2001). A breakout hit in 2002, the album earned Mayer TV guest spots and spawned the hit song "Your Body is a Wonderland." Mayer grew up in Connecticut and attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving to Atlanta, Georgia to focus on a professional career. Known for guitar-oriented pop and soulful lyrics, Mayer followed his overnight success with a 2003 Grammy (for Best Pop Vocal Performance) and two more releases: the live performance CD Any Given Thursday and the studio release Heavier Things. After winning Grammys for his album Continuum (2006), and releasing Battle Studies (2009), Mayer announced his withdrawal from touring because of a medical issue with his throat. He took it easy, career-wise, for a few years, but continued to write and record, releasing his sixth album in 2013, Paradise Valley. Mayer became a fan of the Grateful Dead and then embarked on a tour as a kind-of Dead-inspired singer/songwriter, getting support from founding member Bob Weir. John Mayer released the album The Search for Everything in 2017.
