Actress Julianna Margulies was the star of the long-running legal drama The Good Wife from 2009-16. Julianna Margulies studied at Sarah Lawrence College then moved to New York to break into acting. Her ER character was originally slated to commit suicide in the show's opening episode, but the plot was changed and Margulies went on to become one of the show's stars. In 1995 she won an Emmy for best supporting actress. In 2009, she began playing Alicia Florrick, a lawyer married to a disgraced politician, in the dramatic series The Good Wife. (Margulies was the "good wife" of the title, a politician's spouse now finding her own way in the legal world.) The show was a solid hit, running for seven seasons until wrapping up in 2016. Margulies won a Golden Globe and two more Emmy Awards as lead actress for the show. Julianna Margulies' films include Out for Justice (1991), The Newton Boys (1998), Snakes on a Plane (2006), City Island (2009) and Stand Up Guys (2013).
Julianna Margulies married attorney Keith Lieberthal in 2007. Their son, Kieran, was born in 2008… Julianna Margulies’ father, an advertising executive, wrote the famous “Plop plop fizz fizz” jingle for Alka-Seltzer.
