Kelly Oxford was a young Canadian mother whose successful Twitter account led to a career in Hollywood and a best-selling memoir, Everything is Perfect When You're a Liar (2013). Oxford grew up in Edmonton, but then moved to Calgary, where she married and had three kids. A frequent poster to a variety of social media sites since the late 1990s, she joined Twitter in 2009, posting her first tweet on 5 March ("Is scared of P. Diddy"). Fans of her previous sites followed her, and she soon came to have an even bigger following on Twitter. Her sarcastic barbs -- mostly about motherhood -- earned the laughs and admiration of several celebrities, including Roger Ebert, Jessica Alba and Jimmy Kimmel, and the newfound popularity brought about a book deal. Oxford and her family moved to Los Angeles in 2012 so she could pursue a career as a screenwriter. Seemingly unembarrassable, Oxford's fratboy humor and her Euro-model good looks had the press comparing her to screenwriter Diablo Cody.
