Kevin Durant plays small forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder and was the NBA scoring champion in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He grew up outside Washington, D.C. playing basketball and was a standout in league play by the time he was 11 years old. After a successful high school career, Durant spent one year at the University of Texas in Austin before jumping into the NBA draft for the 2007-08 season. Picked second overall by the Seattle Supersonics, he ended the season with Rookie of the Year honors and an average of 20.3 points per game. A slim 6'9" with long arms, Durant is known for his talent on offense, with the quickness of a point guard and the size of a forward. After his first season, the franchise left Seattle and became the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his second season Durant led the Thunder to the playoffs and captured his first scoring title, averaging 30.1 points per game in the 2009-10 season. He was tops again in 2010-11 (27.7 ppg) and in the strike-shortened season of 2011-12 (28.0 ppg), the year he led the Thunder to the NBA finals against LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
