Linda Evangelista

Model

Born: 10 May 1965
Birthplace: Thorold, Ontario, Canada
Best known as: The supermodel's supermodel of the early 1990s
Linda Evangelista was the hottest high-fashion model around in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when she was frequently on the cover of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and other magazines. Evangelista's classically tidy face, blue eyes and close-cropped haircut gave her a sleek but distant vibe -- a mixture of Sophia Loren and David Bowie. Her corporate clients have included the hair company Clairol, the makeup house Mac, and (in 2014) the fashion line Moschino. A famous clothes horse as well as a superstar in her day, she's known for her whimsical quote about modeling: "I don't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day."
Extra credit:

Linda Evangelista was married to French fashion executive Gérald Marie from 1987 until 1992… She reportedly was engaged to actor Kyle MacLachlan from 1996-98, but the two never married… Linda Evangelista gave birth to a son, Augustin, in October of 2006. At first she did not name the father publicly, but in 2011 filed court papers for child support showing that the father was French billionaire François-Henri Pinault. (He was later the husband of actress Salma Hayek.) The pair eventually settled out of court… Linda Evangelista plays the accordion.
