Miranda Lambert is a Grammy-winning country singer whose hit songs include "Gunpowder & Lead" and "The House That Built Me." She began her professional career when she was a teenager, belting out rock-oriented country songs in Texas bars. Her big break came when she performed as a contestant on the TV show Nashville Star in 2003; Lambert placed third, but she also landed a record deal in Nashville. Miranda Lambert's debut album, Kerosene, spawned hit singles throughout 2005, including "Me And Charlie Talking" and "Kerosene." Her follow-up, 2007's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, entered the country charts at number one and included the hit songs "Famous in a Small Town" and "Gunpowder & Lead." The Academy of Country Music named it the album of the year and Lambert was named top female vocalist. Lambert co-writes most of her songs and has crafted a feisty image to go along with her mature twang and torrent of blonde hair. Her third album, 2009's Revolution, was another hit upon release and included the singles "White Liar" and "The House That Built Me," the 2010 Grammy winner for best female vocal performance. Lambert started 2011 touring as a headliner while Revolution was still a hot-selling critical favorite, and in April she was again named the Academy of Country Music's top female singer, beating out Lee Ann Womack, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Taylor Swift.
