LeucotheaLeucothea (lOOkoth'ēu) [key], in Greek mythology, sea deity. In some legends she was the deification of Ino, the wife of Athamas; in others she was the deification of the sea nymph Halia, mother of Rhodos. The Romans identified Matuta with her.
