Des Périers, Bonaventure bōnävăNtürˈ dā pārēāˈ [key], c.1510–1544, French humanist and poet; protégé of Margaret of Navarre. His chief work, Cymbalum mundi (1537), a series of four skeptical prose dialogues in the manner of Lucian, was banned because of its attack on Christianity.
