Guys, Constantin

Guys, Constantin gois [key], 1805?–1892, French watercolorist and draftsman, b. Holland. His work was published anonymously, most frequently in the Illustrated London News. Most of his witty drawings deal with the elegant society of his period, but he also drew, from life, scenes of the Crimean War.

See P. G. Konody, The Painter of Victorian Life (1930), which includes an essay by Baudelaire.
