Lynch, ThomasLynch, Thomas, 1749–79, political figure in the American Revolution, signer of the Declaration of Independence, b. Prince George's Parish, Winyaw, S.C. He was the son of a Carolina statesman, Thomas Lynch, and is known as Thomas Lynch, Jr. He was elected (1776) to the Continental Congress but soon resigned because of ill health.
