Randolph, ThomasRandolph, Thomas, 1605–35, English poet and dramatist. After graduating from Cambridge in 1632, he went to London where he became a disciple of Ben Jonson. His best-known poems are “A Gratulatory to Ben Jonson” and “On the Death of a Nightingale.” Amyntas (1631), The Muses' Looking-Glass (1630), and The Jealous Lovers (1632) are his most famous comedies.
