Grimm, Friedrich Melchior, BaronGrimm, Friedrich Melchior, Baron (frē'drikh mel'khēôr bärōn' grim) [key], 1723–1807, German man of letters in France. He contributed to the Encyclopédie articles on music that were belligerently partial to Italian opera buffa.
