Englewood

Englewood ĕngˈgəlwo͝od [key]. 1 City (2020 pop. 33,659), Arapahoe co., N central Colo., on the South Platte River, a residential and industrial suburb of Denver; inc. 1903. It has diverse manufacturing. Englewood Speedway is to the west. 2 City (2020 pop. 20,800), Charlotte and Sarasota cos., SW Florida; a census-designated area; settled c. 1878. The town is part of the Brandenton-Sarasota-Venice metro. area. At one time a home to orange groves, it became a center of fishing in the late 19th century. Buchan airport is located there. <3> City (2020 pop. 29,308), Bergen co., NE N.J., a diverse residential suburb in the New York City–N New Jersey area; inc. 1899. It has light industry, producing metals and chemical products. The adjacent borough of Englewood Cliffs is a banking center.
