North Tonawanda

North Tonawanda tŏnəwŏnˈdə [key], industrial and commercial city (1990 pop. 34,989), Niagara co., W N.Y., on the Niagara River at the terminus of the the Erie Canal; settled c.1802, inc. as a city 1897. It is a port of entry and has a variety of manufactures, including furniture, chemicals, plastics, and castings.
