Wachusett Reservoir

Wachusett Reservoir wôcho͞oˈsĭt [key], on the South Branch of the Nashua River, central Mass., NE of Worcester; built 1897–1905. Impounded by Wachusett Dam (completed 1906), it receives some of its water from Quabbin Reservoir and supplies the Boston area.
