Westborough

Westborough, town (1990 pop. 14,133), Worcester co., E central Mass., on the Assabet River; inc. 1717. The town, which is largely residential, has tool and die making and produces electronic components, pharmaceuticals, computer software and networks systems, and other products. The birthplace of Eli Whitney, the inventor of the cotton gin, is preserved.
