Camperdown

Camperdown (kăm'purdoun") [key], Du. Kamperduin [the dune of Kamp], locality near the village of Kamp, North Holland prov., NW Netherlands, on the North Sea. In 1797 the British defeated the Dutch in a naval battle off Camperdown.
