Campobasso

Campobasso (käm"pōbäs'sō) [key], city (1991 pop. 50,941), capital of Molise and of Campobasso prov., S central Italy. It is an agricultural and industrial center. Manufactures include cement, soap, textiles, and cutlery. In the city are a 15th-century castle and a museum of archaeology.
