Evesham

Evesham (ēv'shum, ē'vishum) [key], town (1991 pop. 15,069), Worcestershire, W central England, on the Avon River. Evesham is the center of the Vale of Evesham, known for its market gardens. It is also a popular summer resort. Simon de Montfort, leader of the revolt against Henry III, was killed in 1265 during the battle of Evesham.
