Iwakuni

Iwakuni ēwäˈko͞onē [key], city, Yamaguchi prefecture, SW Honshu, Japan, on the Aki Sea. The site of Iwakuni International Airport, the city contains petrochemical, paper, and metal machine-tool industries. The Kintai Bridge, built in 1673, is famous for providing residents with an escape route from floods.
