Iztapalapa

Iztapalapa or Ixtapalapa (both: ēstäpälä'pä) [key], city (1990 pop. 1,490,499), Federal District, S central Mexico. It is a commercial and industrial center. Iztapalapa was founded on the site of an important pre-Colombian city.
