JalpaiguriJalpaiguri (julpī'goorē) [key], town (1991 pop. 68,732), West Bengal state, NE India, on the Tista River. It is the administrative center for a district that produces tea, rice, jute, tobacco, timber, and medicinal herbs; it is West Bengal's primary agricultural market.
