Kurume

Kurume (kOOrOO'mā) [key], city (1990 pop. 228,347), Fukuoka prefecture, W Kyushu, Japan, on the Chikugo Plain. It is a commercial and agricultural center and manufactures rubber and cotton goods. Kurume is a former castle town.
