Masjed Soleyman

Masjed Soleyman (mäsjed' sōlāmän') [key], city (1991 pop. 107,539), Khuzestan prov., SW Iran, on the Karun River. The site of the first discovery of petroleum in Iran (1908), it is now an oil-refining center.
