Moradabad

Moradabad môrədəbădˈ, mōrädäbädˈ [key], city (1991 pop. 443,701), Uttar Pradesh state, N central India. It is an important rail junction and an agricultural market center. There are industries in metalworking, electroplating, printing, sugar milling, and cotton weaving. The Jama Masjid [great mosque], built in 1631, is in the city.
