Nanded

Nanded (nän'dād) [key]or Nander (nän'dār) [key], city (1991 pop. 309,316), Maharashtra state, S central India, on the Godavari River. Nanded is a district administrative center and is known for its fine muslin. A commercial center, it is also a market for cattle, grain, and cotton. A fort built by the Mughals is nearby.
