Pontypridd

Pontypridd pôntəprēᵺˈ [key], town (1981 pop. 32,992), Rhondda Cynon Taff, S Wales, on the Taff River. Electrical equipment, cables, and chains are made. The famous stone single-span bridge over the Taff was built in 1756, but is no longer in use. The Univ. of South Wales Treforest and Glyntaff campuses and the Treforest Industrial Estate are to the southeast.
