Silkeborg

Silkeborg sĭlˈkəbôrˌ [key], city (1992 pop. 35,027), Aarhus co., central Denmark, on the Gudenå River. It is a tourist and health resort surrounded by beautiful lakes and woods. Its industries produce paper, textiles, and beer. Nearby is a memorial to the playwright Kaj Munk, who was murdered (1944) in Silkeborg by Nazi terrorists.
