Svir

Svir svēr [key], river, c.140 mi (230 km) long, NW European Russia, flowing W from Lake Onega into Lake Ladoga. It is part of the Volga-Baltic Waterway. There are hydroelectric stations at Svirstroy and Podporozhye.
