The latest constitution was adopted in 1967 and revised in 1994. It provides for a president elected for a single five-year term and a bicameral legislature consisting of an upper Chamber of Senators and a lower Chamber of Deputies. The 27 senators and 130 deputies are all elected for five-year terms. Administratively, Bolivia is divided into nine departments.
