NBA's all-time winningest coach; MVP of 1960 NIT as Providence guard; played 15 years in NBA, including 4 as player-coach; MVP of 1971 All-Star Game; coached Seattle to NBA title in 1979; Coach of Year in 1994 with Atlanta; one of only two men (John Wooden) to be honored by the Hall of Fame as player and coach; left Atlanta in 2000 to coach the Toronto Raptors; hired as N.Y. Knicks head coach in Jan. 2004, but lasted only one year in the position; career record of 1372-1208 including playoffs.
