Academy Award-winning, outspoken African-American comedienne turned film and television actress. Her films include The Color Purple (1985), Ghost (1990), Sister Act (1992) and Girl, Interrupted (2000). As one of the producers of Broadway's Thoroughly Modern Millie, she garnered a Tony Award in 2001–2002. Goldberg produced and was the center square of Hollywood Squares from 1998–2002. She was the star and executive producer of the sitcom Whoopi (2003–2004).
