Steve Jobs

Birthplace: San Francisco, Calif.

Businessman and entrepreneur, who designed, built and introduced the Apple computer, a user-friendly alternative to IBM's personal computer with Steve Wozniak in 1976. Jobs and Wozniak saw Apple grow into a billion dollar company. Jobs lost a 1985 power struggle, left Apple and formed NeXT Computer. In 1997 he rejoined the company as interim CEO.
