Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning dramatist known for her plays about educated women facing challenges in post-liberation America. Her plays include Uncommon Women and Others (1977), Isn't It Romantic (1983) and The Heidi Chronicles (1988). She published a book of essays in 2001 called Shiksa Goddess. Died: Manhattan, 1/30/2006
