Alec Baldwin

(Alexander Rae Baldwin III)
actor
Born: 4/3/1958
Birthplace: Massapequa, New York

Alec is the best known of four Baldwin brothers—Alec, Daniel, Stephen, and William > actively pursuing acting careers. Having moved on from early television roles in soaps, his rough-hewn features and piercing blue eyes make him an ideal romantic lead, as he was in The Marrying Man (1991), where he met his wife, Kim Basinger, and in Prelude to a Kiss (1992). Truly talented and versatile, he can give his charm a psychotic edge, as in thrillers like The Juror (1996) and The Edge (1997), or acquire the calculated cool of a G-Man as in Hunt for Red October (1990) or Mercury Rising (1998). Other film credits include Nuremberg (2000) and children's film Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000). He also maintains a foot in the traditional theater, taking on Shakespeare in Looking for Richard (1996), and Williams in both the Broadway and television versions of A Streetcar Named Desire (1995), for which he received an Emmy nomination for Best Actor.
