Birthplace: Biloxi, Mississippi
Older brother of actress Julia Roberts, Eric Roberts appeared on the stage as a child and starred in the 1989 Broadway production of Burn This. He delivered a fine performance as the deranged husband in Star 80 (1983) and was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in Runaway Train (1985). Though possessing unmistakable talent, he has recently appeared in less critically acclaimed films.
