Poulsen, Valdemar

Poulsen, Valdemar välˈdəmär poulˈsən [key], 1869–1942, Danish electrical engineer. He invented (1898) the telegraphone (an early wire recorder) and the high-frequency Poulsen arc used in wireless telegraphy and radio.
